About This Item

Full Description

Sets out requirements for measuring the Brinell hardness of metals and metal products using the SI system of units for force. Provision is made for the use of 1, 2, 2.5, 5 and 10 mm balls in determining the hardness. Requirements for installation, calibration and maintenance of the testing machine are included. Tables of hardness values for use in tests made on flat surfaces are included, with nominal forces of 9.8 to 29 400 N.
