About This Item

Full Description

Describes the procedure for determining the deformation of a refractory specimen cut to specified shape and dimensions when subjected to predetermined, constant compressive stress under prescribed conditions. Two suitable types of furnaces with associated measuring devices are detailed. Although the method centres around the period 20 h to 50 h after application of the full load, the method is adaptable to other periods as required by the user.
