This specification applies to the mass, quality and testing of the zinc coating on galvanized ferrous articles, including steel articles galvanized after fabrication, castings, hollow sections, wire and fasteners. This specification does not apply to galvanized coatings on stell sheet or coil, which are covered by AS 1397, or to coatings on wire netting. No provision is made in this specification for defining the quality, properties or dimensional requirements of the ferrous base.
