Applies where steel studs are used for the attachment of members and connection devices as concrete anchors and as shear connectors in composite steel/concrete constructions. It covers the stud welding of steel studs through light gauge steel sheet, but not the welding of studs to pressure vessels or the friction welding of studs. Included are requirements for stud material as well as parent material, qualification of stud bases, stud welding procedure, qualification of operators, and workmanship levels and testing of finished welds.
