ASHRAE Guideline 12-2000, Minimizing the Risk of Legionellosis Associated with Building Water Systems (ASHRAE 2000) provides specific environmental and operational guidance that will contribute to the safe operation of building water systems to minimize the risk of Legionnaires’ disease. While the guideline is intended for use with a wide range of nonresidential building systems, this paper will focus on potable water and cooling tower systems in health care facilities.
