Full Description

This paper reports on a portion of the research sponsored by the ASHRAE Task Group on Energy Requirements (RP-66-0S), designed to field verify calculation methodologies for determining the energy requirements of buildings based Gn studies at The Ohio State University. Other sub-systems and the total sYptems are described in companion papers.

The purpose of this study is to computer simulate the hydronic sub-system, principally the radiant panel and hot-water generator system by modeling the system components and controls. Due to the geometric complexity of the radiant panel surfaces and the unavailability of manufacturers' data, a detailed simulation method was developed before experimental data were available as reported in Ref 6 and 7. Another purpose was to simplify, verify, and correct algorithms rithms previously reported.
