About This Item
Full Description
This paper (Part V) provides load analysis for a hot-gas defrosted finned-tube freezer coil for entering air dry-bulb temperatures of -8°F and -13°F. The load analysis covers the total refrigeration load rate, average load sensible heat ratio, defrost heat input, defrost efficiency, and other relevant parameters that lead to the determination of the heat loads due to coil hot-gas defrosting. The intent is to provide some insight into the energy penalty associated with defrosting these types of coils using the hot-gas refrigerant method.
