English Description: These 3-A Accepted Practices shall pertain to the sanitary aspects of equipment for spray drying milk and milk products, and include all equipment necessary for spray drying milk and milk products beginning with the discharge of the final pump which delivers the liquid product to the atomizers and terminates at the point the finished product leaves the system for conveying either to the packaging system or to bulk storage. The drying system may include but shall not be limited to the equipment used for moving and cleaning air, heating and/or cooling air, fluid product handling, fluid product heating, fluid product atomizing, gas injection into the product, atomized product dispersion into the heated air, dry ingredient introduction into the process air or product, product reintroduction, agglomeration, dry or partially dry product retention, additional product drying, separating dry product from the air, exhausting the air, dry product cooling and/or conveying, dry product sifting and classifying, dry product particle size reduction, metallic particle detection and separation, internal vibration, air locks, fire suppression appurtenances, pressure relief (explosion venting), product sampling, heat recovery, permanently installed mechanical cleaning devices, instrument sensor fittings, observation ports and any other equipment that may become a part of the spray drying system for handling processing air or product.

Spanish Description: Estas practicas aceptadas 3-A corresponderan a los aspectos sanitarios del equipo deshidratador por rocio de la leche y los productos lacteos e incluye todo el equipo necesario para deshidratar por rocio la leche y los productos lacteos, a partir del inicio de la descarga de la bomba final que dosifica el producto liquido a los atomizadores y termina en el punto cuando el producto final abandona el sistema para su traslado, ya sea al sistema de empaque o al almacenamiento a granel. El sistema de deshidratacion podra incluir, pero no limitarse al, equipo utilizado para el movimiento y limpieza del aire, calentamiento y/o enfriamiento del aire, manejo del producto liquido, calentamiento del producto liquido, atomizado del producto liquido, inyeccion de gas al producto, dispersion del producto por atomizado al aire caliente, la introduccion de ingredientes deshidratados en el aire o producto procesado, reintroduccion del producto, aglomerado, retencion del producto seco o parcialmente seco, secado del producto a?adido, separacion del producto seco del aire, escape del aire, enfriamiento del producto seco y/o traslado, tamizado y clasificacion del producto seco, reduccion del tama?o de las particulas del producto seco, deteccion y separacion de particulas metalicas en el producto, vibracion interna, camaras de aire, accesorios represores de incendios, alivio de presion (ventilacion por explosion), ejemplificacion del producto, recuperacion del calor, dispositivos de limpieza mecanica instalados, herrajes de instrumentos sensores, puertos de observacion y otro equipo adicional que pudiese formar parte del sistema de secado con rocio para el manejo del proceso del aire o del producto.
