Full Description

The purpose of this standard is to establish a specification for manufactured mineral type abrasive materials used with pressure blasting equipment. The abrasives are generally used for blast cleaning metal surfaces to remove scale, rust, paint, encrusted sand, dirt, and other foreign material, and to prepare surfaces for applied finishes such as paints, plasma spray, and metal plating. This specification is intended to replace the current A-A-59316 Commercial Item Description (CID) in use for Aluminum Oxide and Silicon Carbide.
