Describes measurements made in a test room equipped with a radiant cooling ceiling and electrical heat sources. Aims to find a relationship between the air velocity in the occupied zone of a room and the cooling load. Presents measurements results, which show that the air velocity is a function of the cooling load, which causes buoyant plumes. States that if the total cooling load is related to a reference area, a function can be found that is independent of the heat source arrangement. Assesses the risk of draught by using the allowable air velocities of German and American standards, and finds that a risk of draught can appear if the specific cooling load is more than 100 W/m2.
