NFPA 150 now addresses safety considerations in all types of animal housing facilities!

Improve health and welfare of animals while protecting human life and property with the 2007 NFPA 150. Retitled as Standard on Fire and Life Safety in Animal Housing Facilities (previous title was Fire Safety in Racetrack Stables) , its scope has been expanded to cover all types of animal housing facilities where animals are kept for any purpose. These include barns, stable, kennels, animal shelters, veterinary facilities, zoos, laboratories, and racetracks.

In addition to all-inclusive coverage of animal housing facility types, this latest edition:

• Introduces three classes of animal housing facilities and two categories of animals
• Includes additional criteria for a disaster management program
• Incorporates editorial revisions to facilitate improved readability and usability

Requirements address building construction types, egress criteria, and requirements for protection from fire and special hazards.
