Purpose

Recommendations to define present-day engineering practices with reference to safety of personnel and of the ship itself. Attention is directed to other standards and requlations for electric installations on shipboard such as those promulgated by Government Regulartory Agencies and Intergovernmental Maritime Organizations.

Abstract

Revision Standard - Superseded. Recommendations for the selection and installation of equipment on merchant vessels with electric apparatus for lighting, signaling, communication, power, and propulsion are provided.
