Full Description

This paper discusses a project that the Compagnie Generale des Eaux (CGE) has begun in Paris, France, which will link the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for a water distribution network owned by the Syndicat des Eaux d'Ile de France (SEDIF) with a network simulator. The computer software developed for the project will provide automatic transfer of hydraulic and water quality telemetry data to the hydraulic model at a pre-set interval. Upon receipt of the SCADA data, the model will perform hydraulic and water quality calculations in an "online" mode using the new operating conditions. Results from the model will be transferred to a database from which an operator or engineer will be able to graph and view selected system parameters, via designated displays in the network control room.
