About This Item

Full Description

The author of this paper is the manager of water supply and treatment for Anheuser-Busch, Inc., the world's largest brewer. The company is out of business if it does not have a good supply of water. The company is continually looking for ways to make its products require less water so that if droughts and times of water scarcity occur, operations can continue while reducing water use. This paper discusses some of the strategies Anheuser-Busch has used to cope with the potential for drought. Over the past decade, the company has cut by 18% the amount of water needed to brew and package each barrel of beer. The company has instilled a water conservation philosophy among its employees, and has implemented many employee suggestions for enhancing water efficiency, water quality monitoring and wastewater reuse.
