This report provides guidelines for the design of new blast resistant buildings and evaluation of existing buildings for blast resistance. Basic considerations, principles, procedures, and details involved in structural design and evaluation of buildings for blast overpressure effects are examined, in addition to general considerations involved in establishing design requirements for blast resistance in buildings to resist the effects of accidental explosions in petrochemical processing plants.
