About This Item

Full Description

This test method covers obtaining, preparing, and testing cores drilled from concrete for length or compressive or splitting tensile strength determinations. This test method is not applicable to cores from shotcrete.

Note—ASTM Test Method C1604/C1604M is applicable for obtaining, preparing, and testing cores from shotcrete.

Note—Appendix X1 provides recommendations for obtaining and testing sawed beams for flexural performance.

The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. Within the text, the inch-pound units are shown in brackets. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the standard.
