The purpose of this standard is to specify methods of testing for rating the capacity and efficiency of self-contained, mechanically refrigerated vending machines for sealed beverages. This standard

  1. defines standard sealed-beverage storage capacity;
  2. applies to both zone-cooled (typically solid-front) machines and fully cooled (typically glass-front) machines;
  3. establishes uniform methods of testing for determining laboratory performance of vending machines for sealed beverages;
  4. lists and defines the terms used in the methods of testing; and
  5. establishes test conditions for rating.
