About This Item

Full Description

Economically important aspects of swine production (rate of gain, feed conversion, and carcass composition) are responsive to fixed genetic and dynamic environmental factors. This presents the swine producer with a challenge to optimise thermal conditions, to the extent possible, for efficient animal production. Summarises factors affecting swine performance and presents procedures for estimating the consequences of management that might include occasional non-optimal environmental conditions.
