Full Description

This report summarizes the load levels and corresponding structural-performance requirements of the LFD method of AASHTO and outlines how Autostress Design meets these same requirements. An overview is presented of the extensive research program that was conducted to develop these criteria. The results were applied in the design of the Whitechuck River Bridge. Finally, specific suggestions for including Autostress Design principles in the AASHTO specifications are given in the appendix of this publication.
