This procedure applies to the actions of control staff dealing with incidents that impact on, or have the potential to impact on, Network Rail managed infrastructure.

The Emergency Services Guidance, published on Safety Central, is briefed to the Emergency Services and provides a framework for Emergency Services attending incidents on Network Rail Infrastructure. The System Operator assurance plan provides 3 Lines of Defence (LoD) for this procedure. 

PURPOSE 

This procedure details the responsibilities when dealing with Emergency Services personnel on or near the line.
