ASQ, formally known as ASQC, is
the leading quality improvement organization in the United States,
with more than 130,000 individual and 1,000 sustaining members
worldwide. A not-for-profit professional association founded in 1946,
ASQ carries out a variety of professional, educational, and
informational programs. ASQ's mission is to facilitate continuous
improvement and increased customer satisfaction by identifying,
communicating, and promoting the use of quality principles, concepts,
and technology.
Most of the quality methods now used throughout the world --
including statistical process control, quality cost measurement and
control, total quality management, failure analysis, and zero defects
-- were initiated by ASQ members. Those concepts and others are
detailed in over 60 ASQ standards and hundreds of sponsored
publications.
The complete series of ISO 9000 publications has been adopted by
ASQ and each standard is now a joint ANSI/ASQ/ISO standard. You can
