Printing in Adobe when Secured Printing is on

What do I do if I try to print my document and Secured Printing in Adobe Reader is turned on?

If you are using Acrobat Reader X, please make the following change to enable printing:

  1. 1. Open Acrobat Reader X
  2. 2. Go to Edit> Preferences> General
  3. 3. Now you will see a box checked that says Enable Protected Mode at Startup, please uncheck the box, then click OK.
  4. 4. Now close Acrobat Reader.
  5. 5. You can now print your document.

If you are using Acrobat Reader XI, please make the following changes:

  1. 1. Open Acrobat Reader XI
  2. 2. Go to Edit> Preferences> Security (Enhanced)
  3. 3. Now you will see a box checked that says Enable Protected Mode at Startup, please uncheck the box, then click OK.
  4. 4. Now close Acrobat Reader.
  5. 5. You can now print your document.
